I purchased a Nokia J and am very pleased with it. One thing I can't figure out though: how to activate the voice prompts. The manual says:

Make sure the headset is switched on, and touch and hold (the button) for 9 seconds. You hear a
voice prompt, and a yellow indicator light flashes once.

However, when holding the button for 4 seconds, the device is turned off and stays off! As per the next paragraph:

To switch the headset off, press and hold (the button) for 4 seconds.

How, then, can voice prompt be toggled?

Hi! I have the same problem but at the reverse: I'm not able to disable voice prompts.
If I press and hold the button after 4 seconds the device turn off.
I tried to hold the button for many seconds but nothing happen, it stayed turned off.

Ok, I solved it! 

You have only to gently touch the button for 9 secondos, not press!
