I got a free wireless charging plate through AT&T when I bought my Lumia 920 and the other day I woke up to find that my phone had not charged while laying on it overnight.
The LED indicator on the plate blinks rapidly, which according to the manual means there was some kind of charging error, but there doesn't seem to be any way of fixing or resetting it. It just blinks whether the phone is on it or not and no matter how many times I unplug it and plug it back in, it just blinks and will not charge my phone anymore.
It sat on my nightstand next to my bed and has never been abused or had anything happen to it that might have made it stop working, it just did, out of nowhere.
Does anyone on here know of a way of fixing it beside just unplugging it and plugging it back in as Nokia suggests? That method is producing no results.
It's looking like I'm going to just have to exchange it for a new one and hope this doesn't happen again. I can't find anyone else on the internet that seems to have had this problem, so hopefully it's not a big issue and mine just happens to be a lemon. I could understand if I had dropped it or something, but all it did since I got it was sit on my nightstand. One day it worked, and the next it didn't.

The flashing indicator even when the Phone is not kept on it seems to direct that it is a Faulty unit ... You may get it exchanged ..
Also confirm that the NOKIA sign is facing UP when you use the charging plate ...

Yah, must just be defective, although I can't imagine why it would just suddenly stop working. I've had my phone since mid November and the charger has worked fine up until about a week ago, as I described above.
Guess I'll be contacting Nokia bout a replacement. Thanks farby.

Hello,
i also have a problem with this NOKIA charging plate. I got it 4 weeks ago. sometime, i could charge my lumia 920 (3 -4 days in a row) and sometimes not (also 3-4 days. or anything else). I already send the phone to the service and i recieved a replacment phone, but it is still the same behavior.
Next step. Exchange the plate?
NOKIA service hotline, told me, it could be possible that some app is having a problem, does anyone hear about that possiblity?
Greetings
TIM

I have had problems with the charging too. Some times it works good, some times it has stoped charging during night and some times it hasn't charged at all.
I keep my Fat Boy packed charging plate on the floor besides my bed. And we have electrical floor heating.
I guess that the magnetic field the floor heating creates, when it is on, is causing my problems... So likewise any disturbing magnetic fields can do the same. In my case the heating comes on at 10 PM and is normally on for hour or so. Quite often I go to bed before or at that time. So I am quite sure that the problem is what I just explained.
The question to Nokia is, that my phone is still showing that it is charging. Is the problem in the brains of the charging plate (does it have any?) or the phone (Lumia 920)? As it's clear that the external magnetic field can disturb the charging process, but like in my case the disturbance is only temporary. So couldn't there be more intelligence on the devices that they could recover from this?
I can correct it my self, if I noticed it before morning, by taking phone of the plate and putting it back. Couldn't the phone do this by itself when it notices that the battery actually isn't charging? I mean some how disconnect itself from the wireless charger and connect again...
Oh and the charging is okay despite my floor heating, when I manage to but the charging plate exactly right place on the floor. There is some one centimeter marging to do that. So I haven't got it right every time.
And I don't know what the light of the charger is sayin as it is inside the fat boy cover... Didn't even remember that there is any lights... ![]()

Hi adrianhughes,
Phone is charging fine with the cable. Also it is charging fine on the wireless plate when there is not interference from the electrical floor heating.
I changed the place of my charger yesterday and it charged fine last night. The plate is now some 40 cm up from the floor.
Any extrenal magnetic field, or at least one coming from normal electric floor heating, can interupt the wireless charging. Right? As the charging is based on magnetic fields?
In this case it would need little more brains in the charging software to cope with the temporary interferences like I had from the floor heating.

So my phone keeps crashing.
I don't have any background pictures that changes.
It charges fine with the original charger+cable
I have, to be sure, turned off anything but "missed call" and "new text" message on the lockscreen but before it was only the calendar.
I have tried a hard reset as that was said to solve another problem i had.
Over at WPCentral some people are getting there phone exchanged and that fixes it?
Can anybody here confirm it?
And is it a "know issue" for Nokia? Aren't they supposed to answer here when a lot of people has the same issue?
I don't have any floor heating or strong magnetic fields around the phone. The charger is placed on a wooden cupboard with the adapter in the drawer just below. In the drawer i also have another charger and the original 920 charger.
The phone is fitted with the original 920 cover in black. Haven't tried to charge it without but that doesn't seem to be the issue judging on the other posts in here.

New kind of problem:
Yesterday I put my L920 on the charger plate. Charger indicator turned on on phones screen, but the screen didn't shut down, i.e. 'lights' were on and on... Then I just pushed the screen lock button on the side of the phone and then the screen shut down. This morning I noticed that the battery wasn't charged at all during the whole night...
Phone says that it has been on charger if I check the settings and battery info. But for some reason the battery wasn't charged during night... Most likely this has something to do with the screen shut down bug that appeared as I mentioned.

Did you try charging again ? Is the problem repeating or just one off case ?

Well I meant my previous post as a part of the previous one.
Meaning that I wasn't thinking that it wouldn't charge next time.
Did work last night well. One time problem in that sense.
This tells that there is some program controlling the charging in general or charging on wireless charger,
and that program need improvements for the problem situations. I have now mentioned two problematic situations...
