Replacement cable for BH-905 Headphones

The end of the cable CA-143U stayed inside the converter when I tried to remove it, leaving me unable to use either.

 

I phoned Nokia, but an incredibly unhelpful person told me I had to buy new headphones - so thats yet another £170 for what was clearly a poorly designed cable.

 

It seems this is a common problem so I wonder if anyone has found a solution to getting a replacement cable ?  I assume they are fairly standard connectors ?

 

My long term solution is to never buy Nokia again, but it seems crazy to waste so much money on a headset that is less than a year old....

I don't think you have to buy a new headphones but a new cable, yes. If you're located inside US, you can try visiting amazon.com.
