ASHA 311 - WiFi Fix !!!!

Some of the NOKIA Asha 311 Series devices (**NOT All)  are facing some WiFi connectivity Issues wherein the WiFi does connect with your router but while trying to use the Internet it doesnt work. SO if thats the case with you than I have found a very simple solution.

This phone has a "Brand New Browser" which has been Pre-Configured to connect to NOKIA Servers so that a Huge amount of Data can be compressed, which in turn makes the Browsing a Lot FASTER. But the downside is all of this is for the 2G/3G Mobile Data and certainly not for the WiFi. Now for some reason the OS software gets stuck on the Mobile Data's Internet Profile (as Default) & forces the Phone to only use Mobile Data and doesnt switch to the WiFi Mode when required. I also believe that the operator settings are causing the issue in some way, when they Auto Send the Internet Profiles & these Profiles are set as Default the moment we save them. Now, maybe the CONFLICT is between the 2 Defaults, NOKIAs Pre Configured Default (to access Nokias Compression Server through Mobile Data)  && the Operators Profiles Default (In their own way)

 SO heres what can be done to get it out of that Default Profile:

 Method 1 (Simple One):  Insert New Sim.

 1. Remove your present Sim & Insert a new Sim.
 2. Start your Mobile & it will automatically receive New Internet Settings for the New Sim.
 3. Now go to Settings >> Configuration >> Activate Configuration and Make Sure that the New Access Point is ((NOT)) set as Default. Infact the previous Sims Profile should be the default one.
 4. In the " Setting >> Connectivity >> Mobile Data >> Select "DISABLE"
 5. In the WiFi Section "Settings >> Connectivity >> select Ask First.
 6. Now Start Your WiFi, Scan for & enter password n everything and start using your WiFi Internet it should WORK.

 **MAKE Sure that ur using ur WiFi and not your Mobile Data thats why I asked you to DISABLE the Mobile Data.

 Method 2: (Even Simpler): Create a New Internet Setting / Profile yourself.

 1. Go to the Menu >> Settings >> Configuration >> Personal Settings. Here Select Options >> Add New >> Enter BOGUS Data >> SAVE.

 2. Now go to Settings >> Configuration >> Activate Configuration and Make Sure that the New Access Point is Set as Default.

 

3. REPEAT 4 to 6 Above.

 

**You can Also try creating a "New Access Point" and Set it as Default.

 

*** Remember (Simple Trick) -- The Internet Settings of the PRESENTLY Inserted Sim should not be SET as Default........ but either the Manual Bogus Setting or the Ones from the Previous Sim.

 

 

***There is One More Soft Reset Way of doing this by tapping  *#7780# on your dialler. But my Intention was not to use the Reset way and still be able to use the WiFi. You can do it if your Phone is NEW.
