Hi, hope someone can help.
I had a Nokia 5140i when they were new, and I DEFINITELY used to be able to use infrared to connect to my Pc and download camera images etc and probably backup contacts and messages as well so I'm oretty sure it worked with some version of the PC Suit software or a predecessor to it.
The phone got passed to elderly relatives and has now come back to me and there's some stuff on it I want to save.
I can still connect it via infrared, butthe latest PC Suite software says it only connects by USB or Bluetooth. There's no way I want to spend a lot of money on a special usb cable adapter just for one session, but as I say, I'm SURE I could use Infrared before.
Was there an older version of PC software that used infrared? Can I get hold of it?
As a last resort, should I at least be able to browse some of the phone's memory (eg camera pics) in Windows Explorer? At present, the infrared link is established, the PC says "Nokia 5140i in range" but all I seem to get when I click on the icon is a window to SEND files from the PC to the "wireless device", I can't see a way to get anything OFF the phone at all.
I wish I could remember how I did it before, but I DO have some picures I got off the phone years ago, so I know it's possible!
Please can someone advise?
