Do not use Nokia Suite but the latest PC Suite. Because your phone model is rather new, you have to install the latest USB driver as well.

Re: Asha 210 Cannot import contacts , tried many methods

First you need to install the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver as PC suite is not directly compatable with Asha 210.

Once the drivers are installed, install the pc suite.

Connect the phone in " modem mode".

Now you will be able to see the phone under PC suite.

Now regarding importing contacts--
First export all the contacts to outlook as Vcard from your old mobile using the import function of outlook.
Open outlook and pc suite side by side.
Select some contacts in outlook (use shift + down arrow after clicking one contact) first and drag them into pc suite contact window.
They will be copied into your Asha 210 contacts.

PC suite doesn't recognize the Phone , even after following the above mentioned steps religously.

Re: Asha 210 Cannot import contacts , tried many methods

I've tried as well. I can connect the phone, i can enter PC Suite and see contacts, sms and such. But it's impossible to drag / drop contacts from outlook 2010 into the Asha / PC Suite. Just gives me the unallowed-mousepoint. Any hints?

Download Nokia Suite from this link...

And use modem mode to connect...

I have just finished syncing my asha 210 the same way..

Try it out..

Re: Asha 210 Cannot import contacts , tried many methods

Hi guys

Desperately need help! Spent so much tme, without any success, trying to import Gmail contacts to Nokia Asha 210

Handset details below

Nokia Asha 210.4

MATERIAL: A00013307

What I've tried so far based on various suggestions on Nokia forums

Option 1 - Direct sync with Gmail

http://forum.ucweb.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=14893 and other similat steps that include syncml

Problem: Just downloads 50 out of 191 contacts each and every time

Option 2

Nokia Suite 3.6.36 (older version)

Problem: Asks for VCF file, but extracts only 1 contact from it

Option 3

Nokia PC Suite with the latest USB Driver

Problem: In case of VCF file, it extracts only 1 contact from it

Probeem: In case of CSV file, there's an error message "The contacts cannot be imported. Check the file format"

Would really appreciate some help on this

Thanks guys

dbt

Re: Asha 210 Cannot import contacts , tried many methods

Yes but this assumes that you have a Microsoft Windows PC.

I have an ubuntu system that can read some of the files on the phone, but not write them, but I cannot see the Gallery directory in which e-mail attachments appear to be saved.

I have sent myself an e-mail with a vCard file attached and it has been saved in /Gallery/Received files, or so the system claims.

Is there no way that I can get vCard data imported into this phone?

This is my wife's phone.  She likes the keyboard.  Mine is an Android, and imports vCard data with ease.  Surely Nokia can do the same..
