Asha 210 - antivirus software

Hi,

Is there a way to download an antivirus software programme eg AVG on an Asha210?  Have heard this is not possible as Nokia claims no one has created a virus for their phones.  I'm cautious because Apple used to have this attitude but now have antivirus software available.

Thanks.

Hi. You don't need an anti-virus. We hope this post (explanation) will suffice: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Should-I-worry-about-viruses-or-malware/td-p/10961...

Re: Asha 210 - antivirus software

A 3rd-party cannot create an anti-virus software because public APIs do not allow such deep integration into the system. Therefore, Nokia would have to provide something like that. I guess, it is easier for Nokia to fix such vulnerabilities, therefore, you are able to report security incidents. Although, that is not the same as anti-virus software.
