I was charging my phone and typed messages and received a photo on whatsapp when the screen suddenly slashed white and restarted (phone didn't switch itself off though because I was able to continue using it without inserting pin code). This has happened once before only but then I wasn't charging. I read reboots can be common. My version is 14.78. Is this something to worry about?

This also happened once in 14.26 version after I had received a photo. Only these 2 times

I have found this issue with my Nokia 302 phone as well.

It is happening more often. (My version 14.78 31-08-12 RM 813)

This is a bug. How do I report this bug?

This may be a fact of WhatsApp being incompatible with your phone. There have been numerous issues reported not only with your device, but Symbian and Windows Phone devices. I would leave feedback with them reporting the issue via their website, and also you can leave feedback with Nokia directly (as this is a user to user forum only), via clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page.

Someone on another forum told me to go to whatsapp website and try loading a fresh copy to override the preinstalled one. Is this wise?

I discovered whatsapp is removable. Is it a good idea to try uninstalling it and then download a fresh copy from the website?

Yes, why not. I would email them or contact them via forums anyway and report your issues.
