Asha 308/309 App Availability

I'm seeing a lot of apps in sample videos that aren't available from the Ovi store for these devices.  For example Shazam, Angry Birds, Opera Mini and something that views Youtube videos.   

 

It would be really great to have those available;  Are Nokia Asha 308/309 so different that they cannot run these apps?  Most apps look like fairly old-school Java stuff of a generation or two ago.  Will this situation improve in the coming months?  

 

I'm seeing a lot of very interesting and very informative videos on app development for Series 40 touch, can anyone shine some light on things that could be coming for Asha 308/309?
