Hi how can I disable all internet access but retain picture messaging on my wife's Asha 300. She never goes on the internet with her phone, so does not have a data allowance in her package. If the new phone connects by itself or via an app she will be charged £1 per day for internet usage. I have looked at packet data under connectivity, but there are only two options "always online" or "when needed". There is no option to turn it off.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to menu- settings - configuration settings - personalized settings - create new.
Now select web. Do not alter any field & exit. Do same for access point. Now activate these settings as default. Also click on activate default in all applications. This will prevent any access to web including picture messaging. When you wish to send a picture message just reactivate the service provider's settings again. After sending revert to these settings.

Hi guys,
I've been working my brains with asha 300 on how to disable the data service (was it that expensive to put the off option as an option for this phone from the first place???) and got to this forum. Now I did as told here, created a personal setting for web and access point, selected them as default instead of the setting of the operator (O2 UK) and, to my surprise, the phone still connects to the internet! Except now it warns me that it is an unsecure connection. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but this phone doesn't have wi-fi so why does it still connect to the internet and why do I still have on the screen the G 3.5 and H symbols? I don't know if there is a possibility to see exactly through what type of network I access the internet. I repeat, the default setting is for my personalized web and acces point. ![]()
