N90 Memory Card not Recognized

I purchased a 1gig memory card and my n90 won't recognize it. Do I need to buy an external reader and format it or is it just not compatible? Thanks.

Did you buy a DV (Dual-Voltage) RS-MMC, or MMCmobile type card?

If one brand card doesn't work, another might (there can be differences in manufacturing quality or interpretations of the specifications). Or the card might just be broken.

Older, "single-voltage" RS-MMC cards will not work in the N90.

Further to Petrib's suggestion, there is more than one dual voltage variety. The voltages you need are 1.8/3.0V, be sure this is what you have as anything different wont work
