I will be getting this phone tomorow, and would like to know, is it safe to connect it via the 3.5mm cable to car head unit aux port, and use it as a music player.
I have an now quite old Pioneer head unit, which doesn't have USB port, so playing music from CDs is a pain, and of course playing it through phone would make lifa a lot easier, but I don't want to damage it in the process.

hi mate,

Should be safe to run the audio through the AUX port on your Pioneer head unit, though to be safe I would not put either the head unit or the phone to maximum volume.

Err, one more thing. I'm having a Samsung micro usb headset ( original one, came with the phone, GT-C5510 ), so I wonder would they work on 201's micro usb port? First and foremost, is it electricaly safe to connect them, and second would there be any sound output? It's just the fact that the one I got with Nokia, is not original ( brought separately ), and it's not as good as Samsung headset...
Sorry if I'm being annoying with dumb questions, the darn curiosity is killing me...

hi mate,

as its microUSB and not exactly drawing heaps of current or power, it is safe to try the Samsung headset. Either it works or it doesn't you know, though if it has call/call-end/any other kind of buttons, these may or may not work with the Nokia.

Thanks man, tried it, didn't even recongize anything being connected, and sure, no output, sound goes throgh speaker... And no damage done. Cheers!
