Have you tried updating the device SW to the 5.92 SW version (note: the update is currently only available via Nokia Suite, not via FOTA)? Updating should solve the issue. I just tried myself using using the browser on a device with that SW version and did not see the problem.
edit: also make sure you don't have Wi-Fi switched off from your device settings (settings -> connectivity -> Wi-Fi -> on).

Can you check what is the browser version from the browser settings menu (there's an "about" screen)?

I tried to reproduce the issue with my collegue of mine and neither of us managed to make reproduce it.
could you try the following schenarios and see what happens:
*make sure you have "settings->connectivity->net connection" set as "ask first". does this change the behaviour in the browser?
if that does not change anything:
* remove the SIM-card from the phone and try to use the browser. Does it work with Wi-Fi then?

thanks for the test result. One more question: which operator SIM-card are you using?
I will try to file a bug report of the issue internally, but the problem is that unless we have clear steps of how to reproduce the problem, there is little chance of getting any fixes done... :/ there is clearly some variable in your device which is different from my test device that we would have to try to figure out.

We finally managed to reproduce and see the problem on one test device. However when cross-testing on an another device, the issue does not appear. This currently leads me to believe this could be a hardware issue and not a software issue. But I will try to dig more details on the topic.

Thanks armagon for quick reply ....there are still bit of problems with new SW update on asha 311
1.Cancell option not working while asking while asking for wifi,mobile data ,automatic.
2.Nokia browser, Chat apps, Mail apps not working on wifi..
3. Unable to stream youtube video even if connected to strong wifi...gives error message
4. When selecting any video files option with long tap ...use video option ..not working..gives message 'Selected service not available.' that is in any video files.
5. Wifi signal drops drastically when we move 10 Ft away from wifi router ..in same room...while my laptop wifi n other cell wifi shows 100% signal..Asha shows 17%...
What is your suggestion...
