Random Nokia 500 alert tone?

I have a Nokia 500 that beeps every so often for no reason like an alert. Its not an old reminder/text/delivery report/battery etc. Is it something to do with it searching for network/changing to 3g network? The phone doesn t light up or give any other indication as to what its doing.”

We have seen this question crop up a few times and the most likely cause if the signal has dropped
