Neither the Asha 205 single-SIM or dual-SIM current have Whatsapp support. But if one of these will get the support going forward, then it would be indeed the single-SIM version, based on the fact that Whatsapp does not currently support any Nokia dual-SIM devices.
Here's a list of Nokia Series 40 phones which currently support Whatsapp: http://whatsapp.com/s40/

Yep, it's up to the developer for a big part, but also about phone specs & performance as Whatsapp is implemented so that it can run in the background and stay connected all the time. There is at least one previous existing example of a single-SIM Asha model which didn't get Whatapp support at all (Asha 203). Based on my understanding with dual-SIM phones the problem is essentially the same - Whatsapp should stay connected all the time, or otherwise you will miss messages from other users. However changing between SIM-cards would interrupt with the connection.

That doesn't sound right to me. Nobody would make a mobile service which requires a 100% reliable connection. Also, Whatsapp works fine in dual SIM Android phones to my knowledge. So there must be something in the way dual SIM is implemented in Series 40, which makes it impossible or at least difficult to make Whatsapp work with them.
The lack of Asha 203 support is probably a memory issue: all other Asha phones have at least 32 MB of RAM, but the poor 203 has to make do with just 16 MB. It does not explain why for example the C2-01 and C2-02 are not supported, but that could just be an omission on part of Whatsapp developers. If the memory theory is correct, Asha 205 won't be getting Whatsupp, either (it has only 16 MB of RAM).

yep, I'm sure it would be possible to get Whatsapp running on Nokia dual-SIM devices, it would not be able to run "well enough" due to the way the connection management is implemented on those mentioned DS devices. It's something Nokia should work on optimizing going forward.
Actually, the RAM/ROM details for Asha 202/203 seem to be wrong on Nokia Developer specs.. The correct values should be 64 MB of ROM and 32 of RAM. Even the firmware of the device could not fit into 32 MB of ROM space as the images are bigger combined... Need to get that checked out.

Hi ATEM1379
Thank you for posting and welcome to Nokia Support Discussions! ![]()
Nokia Asha 205 is currently not compatible with WhatsApp, you can check this link: http://www.whatsapp.com/s40/ for the list of phones supported by the said application. Alternatively, you can check Nokia Store to download similar application to WhatsApp.

I would not do that because WhatsApp needs some special API, only the latest Nokia Series 40 offer. Only do it, if your phone is newer than the Nokia C3-00. Go to your browser and enter:
www.whatsapp.com/s40/WhatsApp.jad
Normally, WhatsApp has a reason not to list your model!
