I finally got the right certificate!

Now it´s working!!!
The funny thing is that I found it by own. The IT team doesn´t know where this certificate is.

it would be good to know what you did in your instance to get the right certificate for future reference if other people are searching for similar issues.

I got the certificate in Windows 7 network settings, then I selected peap network.
After that, I choose security, then settings, then I double clicked on "uolcorp" that is my realm.
I don´t know why, but in Windows 7 the option for this certificate is not turned on.
I just copy this certificate to my N8 and it worked! ![]()

3 - Click on your peap network
4 - Click on "wireless properties" and then select "security"
5 - Choose "settings"
6 - Look for your certificate on that list, and double click on it.
7 - Choose "details" and then "copy to file"
8 - Click on "next" and select "DER Encoded binary X.509"
9 - Save the .cer file and send to your phone over bluetooth or USB
10 - Just open the File Manager on your phone click on the .cer file to install

Hey thanks for posting that. I didn't need to do that but it's good to know the steps are there to do it properly for Nokia! (ie: getting certificate files)
again, nokia, still angry it's not automatic ![]()

Thanks igorlt78 for the info. How do you know which certificate is yours? All I can see is the list of certificates. None of them is checked, even Validate Server certificates isn't checked.
Does it mean our compant does not use any certificates for wireless network?

It is so sad,
if there is no certificate ,,, why I need to ask my IT tech to give me one ?
Why Nokia N8 can not connected like other smart phones ?
I like nokia hardware but really programming software should be more simple or user friendly
other phones can connect to any Wi-Fi (correct user / pass ) in one time,
with nokia n8, you need to put user name/pass and wait , and re-click again on the Wi-Fi name to connect ...

I think you always need a certificate, if they say you need one, you just need to use one of the default ones already installed on the phone. I used a windows machine that was previously connected to know which one.
You're setting up your wifi connection not the best way. You can scan for wifi, but best is to go to Settings, Connectivity, Destinations and add it to the Internet destination and will auto connect after that.

Just adding my 2 cents.....After getting the certs in der format from the IT department (with .cer) extension on my laptop I used bluetooth on the laptop to push the cert to the cellphone. then open the text and it asked what the cert will be used for, I selected all the options.
Then selected the wifi and selected Wi-Fi security settings
Select EAP plug-ins settings--> then EAP-PEAP
1. Selected Authority certificate which will give a list of certs go through it and select the one you just got from laptop
2. Select username in use user defined without the domain user.name
3. Select realm in use as user defined and then give domain DOMAIN
4. then select EAP-MSCHAPv2 by clicking arroe in upper right corner
5. Select user.name and then prompt password no and then give the password
that should do it ![]()
