I Have Nokia C5-03 bought before 4 months.
I use BSNL Prepaid card, 3G/EDGE enabled.

I am facing problem of not being able to connect to internet via 2G/3G reliably.

whenever I try to connect to internet, 7 out of 10 times it gives me message"
"connection not available.pls check connection settings".
Many a times after restarting the phone, internet gets connected.but not always.

I also own Nokia N73. But whenever I insert the same SIM card in it, it never failed to connect to internet, neither it has given me such problem in last 4 years.

In only In Nokia C-5 03 I Need to struggle for getting connected to net.

2 times I visited Nokia service center, but they have only formatted it and installed software to it and gave it back.

I have also installed latest version software to my handset from nokia site to fix any bug if it has any..

But it doesn't work..

what i need to do..?

i also have exactly same problem with bsnl 2g/3g in nokiac5-03. When i try to connect it say connection not available. However, there's no such problem in n70. Help please..

I'm also having the same problem with bsnl sim card. I have posted my sim to airtel, again the same problem.

Welcome to the Nokia discussion boards! 

Have you asked the operator to send through the relevant connection settings for your device? This should just be a simple text which asks you to automatically configure and setup these settings once they have been sent through.

if you have 3g sim then go to settings:network :network mode:set it to umts

Hi i think this might help you to rectify the problem by this method first of all backup and rest your mobile by the key *#7780# or *#7370# (hard reset) and while you restoring the backup file don't backup the settings and select other thing like contacts,notes,file,calender if you want but don't restore the settings.Try this one and reply me if it works.

for me nothing work... Cann't nokia make (update) firmware in which this problem is fixed for nokia s60v5 mobiles ???

sorry dude, our problem isn't about wifi but about 2g/3g connectivity. Our mobile (i.e s60v5, for example c5-03, 5233 etc) doesn't connect to internet and says connection is not available.moreover, n8 is a symbian^3 os mobile.

You better check other apps using this connection. Turn them off.

dude, there is no app. using this connection and there is no problem in acess point setting...

I too have a Nokia C5-05 and it is giving the same problem.Earlier I had a Tata Docomo Sim n then I changed to BSNL.These Sim cards have GPRS connectivty on other phones but when I put it into my phone it gives a ' connection not availabe' error.On restarting the phone it connects sometimes.The Nokia Support is hopeless.They are not finding the solution.Its a shame that they have no qualified technitions to take care of the problems.Even school going kids know how to format n reinstall the software, we dont need to goto Nokia Care.They dont know anything more than that.What a pity !
