The Service Set Identifier (SSID) enable devices to find the router. In order to get a better signal you best turn off power saving in the advanced settings of WLAN on your 5800.

Check the English manual on page 79 about advanced settings of WLAN.

i had the same problem but this fix of yours did not do anything to fix this, in fact my fix was much more easy, on your phone go to menu-settings-connectivity-destination-internett-c

Ok....I have had my Nokia 5800 for almost a year now and has not faced this problem once.
There is no ' WLAN Setting ' option (below "Networks") !!!!
This means I cannot even search for Modems.....I really need help !!

Hello Nokia expert,
I am using v.52 of 5800 and still experiencing the same problem ONLY when connecting to Facebook, pre-installed by Nokia. Over 90% of first attempt shown "invalid server connection". 100% of second attempt got through the connection.
Then I download FB from Ovi suite. It works 100% OK for any first attempt of connection.
This FB has a simpler layout from the one installed by Nokia. One month ago, I couldn't get the messages through the inbox. It seemed the problem was solved now.
Is invalid server connections derived due to pre-installed Facebook?
Thanks
stephen
