Hi, I recently got a Nokia Lumia 610.
I connected it to my home WIFI and it worked fine, however when out of range of the WIFI or out and about my emails or internet do not work or sync.
It appears its still looking for my home WIFI network.
The only way I can resolve it is wiping the device and restarting again.
It would be useful if I could use the home WIFI but then automatically goes onto the normal network.
I can't find anything within the forums.
Please help ![]()

@BatCat1
What happens if you turn WLAN off in Settings?
Presumably in Settings > mobile network > Data connection = ON which is default when setting up phone?

I have had my new Lumia 610 for a week and the phone will not reconnect to my home Wifi after sleeping or going out of range and then back in range without turning my wireless router off/on. I've tried everything in the discussion forums from turning off Data connection, toggling Wifi off/on and a complete phone reset (annoying) and not ever touching the internet sharing switch. This should be a basic function of the phone to connect to a known Wifi network when in range, whether data connection is turned on or off. I have turned off the screen saver to make this a bit more manageable (It's too impractical to keep the charger plugged in all the time) but my Windows 7 laptop, macbook pro, and multiple Iphones all connect with no problems time after time. DOES NOKIA HAVE A FIX FOR THIS? These Wifi discussion forums seem to back date quite a few months. I think I will exchange for Android platform phone.

Hi
I have a new Lumia 610 and it will not accept the password for my WIFI Router. I know the password is correct because it works for PC's and other mobiles on the same router. Is this a bug that has a fix? Using a Netgear Router DG834N that works fine.

Try rebooting the router. Also check router for firmware updates if available.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried this and still can't get in - still have the same message that "Password is incorrect" - which it definitly isn't. Any other ideas? Thanks,

Have you tried any other wifis? Does the phone works with other wifis? Also if you know how to access it, the router logs may provide some information regarding this. Another thing to try is to disable encryption on the router and see if phone connects. if it works without encryption then start reintroducing encryption abd go through the different one by one to see if it works with any of them.
