Looks like I have the same issue of internet connection with my lumia 710(2 weeks old). I checked with Nokia customer support, and they have suggested me a reset of my phone when I get the error on wifi connection and it is a known issue,
But this is really not acceptable to reset my phone everytime, by this I loose all my data and settings and applications, and this error comes atleast once in a day. So the reset everyday and result is that my phone is only a device to make simple call and receive calls. Nothing more than that. Not even messages can be stored. Its really not a good fix for the wifi issue.
Please suggest something more acceptable solution.
The issue is specific to Airtel service provider in India. Nokia also needs to work with the provider to get it fixed. As we do not see any steps taken to get it fixed. Both Nokia and Airtel would loose as I see many users moving to other phones and service providers.
I have seen posts on this issue not only with Airtel. So I am actually thinking if it would be right to change my service provider. I am really looking forward to use this phone. If wifi issue is fixed then the phone is a great one, I don't want to really change my lumia.
Did you have any personal experience with this wifi issue. Coz I have tried all the fixes they have suggested ( turn off data connection when wifi is available, keep any one wifi or data, a new apn ....).
go to settings->application tab->background tasks
there you could find so many applications still running in background!! stop everything . then try to connect. I did so... it wrkd!!! for me!!!
Even I am usinh Nokia Lumia for last two months and facing this issue recurringly. when i reset my phone and set fresh configuration it works for few days but as i download few apps it start behaving abrruptly and eventually after some time fully stop functioning on internet.
Please do something NOIKA.
I am facing same issue with my Lumia 710..... First 2.5 months Internet was blazing fast.
But now it become worst!
Now I want to replace it with some samsung stuff!
Because Nokia is not doing anything to help in this issue as it is coming from previous two months~!!
I am also facing the similar facing....At the time of purchasing this stupid handset I was so excited but after purchasing I got only headache and nothing. I am not able to use internt even I am having 3G data connection. Even I am not able to make calls. Ater 15 minutes use , I am getting very heat from the handset......
this is not about the phone... Dont blame nokia for this.. Its thw problem with the operator airtel.. Change your operator and see,everything will work fine

I am on IDEA network and am facing the same issue...i had my phone reset and it worked fine for a day but then again it stopped working. My operator has send me the settings and i have manually entered APN setting a zillion times to no avail...Using a Lumia 710 which i purchased 3 weeks ago. I was able to use the phone only for a week after which the erratic on-off data connection drove me mad! Is this a network problem or a handset issue?
I am using lumia 710 for 8 months. I really disappointed with this mobile. Often I use to get prob with internet connectivity. If will restart the phone it ll be fine. But from yesterday am getting a prob like I am not able to connect wit internet. Am using the Docomo 3G network. We cant blame network providers. One more thing I have tried by resetting my phone this time. But still am having the same issue. But there is no prob with Wifi connection. Nokia should teke care of this issue and soluld get a solution on this.
Yesterday I updated my Lumia 710 to the new firmware 7.8 for windows phone at one of the Nokia Care center. My network provider is Airtel in India. I am using 2g data connection which we also call GPRS.
Prior to me updating to the New firmware the Gprs data connection was working fine and never had any connectivity problems. But now the data connection is not working at all.
I got the phone checked at another Nokia Care. They did reset the phone a few times. I also contacted the network provider and they said that my data connection is very well active and I need to contact nokia as it seems to be an update issue.
