I purchased a Nokia 1661 in the US in September 2009. Is it possible for me to be able to use it again by re-registering it from the UK before I return to the US again in September this year?

I am afraid it may not work in the U.K as its only a dual-band gsm phone. I don't know what you mean by re-registering the phone?

Apologies for not being clearer. I know I can't use my US cellphone in the UK but I'd like to be able to re-use it in the US as soon as I return in September, 12 months after my last holiday there.

Will I be able to simply put some more credit on the phone and be able to use it immediately, or is there some procedure I need to go through because it won't have been used for approximately 12 months?

Buying a new cellphone every time I visit the US is time-consuming and costly.

There should be no problems using the phone once you reach your place. Make sure you charge the phone in between these 12 months though you won't be using it.
