Re: WIFI connectivity Problem with Nokia 603

Hi lbwp,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

Have you tried resetting your router? Are you able to use the internet on you P.C? Have you tried connecting any other wireless devices and have been able to access the internet on that?

Regards

What type of secruity key are you using on your wireless?

What is the make and model of you router?

How many wireless devices can the router have stored?

Hi,

Try removing the access point off the Nokia 603. Then do a soft reset which can be done by dialing *#'7780# and if the device ask for a code the default is 12345 (unless you have changed this then please enter your new one).

Once the device is restarted, add the access point again. Also have a look at the below link:

http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/603/user-guides?ccf_name=nokia-603/guide/GUID-8D279C...

By using the guide on the above link the change the priority so the WiFi access point is the first. Also look at the below link about disbaling power save:

http://europe.nokia.com/support/searchqt=Nokia%20603%20WiFi&comp=Nokia%20603&cat=support&fullcontent...

And also have a look at this link about getting no gateway:

http://europe.nokia.com/support/searchqt=Nokia%20603%20WiFi&comp=Nokia%20603&cat=support&fullcontent...

Have a look through and read through the above and let me know how you get on.

Regards

Re: WIFI connectivity Problem with Nokia 603

Hi

The reason I asked was I want to try to establish if there is a compatibility issue with your router and your current phone or maybe if there is an issue with your device.
If there is any other WiFi you can connect to just to test that the WiFi capabilities in your device are working.

Re: WIFI connectivity Problem with Nokia 603

Hi,

Have a look at the following 2 threads, there is a lot of information about WiFi issues:

http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Connectivity/Nokia-n8-wlan-wifi-connectivity-problems/m-p/972...

http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Connectivity/Nokia-N8-WLAN-quot-Invalid-Server-Name-quot-Erro...

Look through these posts , and on one of the post's a user has the same router as yourself.

Let me know how you get on.

Yeaaaaaaaaaah you rock thank you thank you thank you

Disabling the Qos Quilty of service on the router DID the trick now im able to browse through the wifi

Solution from the first link last post

/t5/Connectivity/Nokia-n8-wlan-wifi-connectivity-problems/m-p/972131#M37012

here is the solution

[[[[ I had a Speedtouch 585 router v7 and couldn't connect to my home WiFi, but could connect at my friends' Wi-Fi's. I tried renaming the SSID with no blanks, manually setting the IP's and DNS, but the problem persisted. And the problem was the router. Since the firmware upgrade, the QoS (Quality of service) parameter cannot be tampered with. You have to turn it off manually. To do so, do this :

1) Open a command line window (start-->accessories-->command line OR start-->run--> type "cmd")

2) type telnet 192.168.1.254 and press enter (this was the router's IP address in my case, it may be 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.1) (If it doesn't connect right-click the connection icon at the bottom of the screen-->properties-->TCP/IP and note the IP address)

3)enter your username and press enter (default admin)

4)enter your password  and press enter (default <blank>)

5)the router command line logo should appear. Type wireless and press enter

6)type qos and press enter

7)type config mode disabled and press enter

8)type saveall and press enter

9)type exit and press enter

Find your WiFi in your N8 as usual (delete any previous access points of your WiFi if any) and set it as first in priority (in N8 : settings-->connectivity-->settings-->network destinations-->internet)

You are ready ! ]]]]

Thank you Thank you Thank you :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy: big happy face
