Even I had the same issue with Nokia E5 - WiFi. Now I found the solution to overcome with this issue. I found Nokia Update Software from PC Suit and updated my mobile with S60 -42.014. This is working with NO ISSUES.

What is the Nokia E5 software version, when you test this?
What is the error message?
Have you tried with newest software, version 071.003?

Unfortunately R&D team has not succeeded to repeat this on E5. Did you check that you have the same SSID and the same channel number? Did you define public or hidden Ad-hoc?
Could you give more info about the device (PC, Router) to where you connect by using E5?
For example; windows version, if PC? Could you give me the definitions from the both of devices, which connect with Ad-hoc wireless?
What is the product code of the E5? Code: the white label on the device under the battery.

Same error here.
Also I experience many problems when trying to surf via wifi.
It seems like connectivity is gone after 2-3 minutes.
Loading of pages goes really slow, when retrying (many times) the page comes.
I have the impression the wifi chip is like disconnecting after a time, then coming back and then gone again, over and over.
Any suggestions?

I am really stunned by this behavior , My phone also shows up this error. I have tried installing the latest patches, but they also don't work out for this issue.
The temporary solution what I found was to clear the logs and browser data. Then it works fine.
Nokia should hire some better engineers who have agrip of the issues in the product and provide solutions, It's also a alarm call for them , if the existing customers are loosing faith in their products how would they attract new ones. ![]()
Already other products on different platforms are doing great work, if Nokia doesn't provide better support and resolve such issues, I will be forced to break my 12 year old relationship with Nokia and move to other platform smart phones..
I seriously hope someone reads this and provides a better soution to all of the worries... !!

*#7370# is a soft reset that will basically reformat the C: drive in your phone. Any apps you have installed in the phone's memory will be lost.
