FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY I NOTICED NETWORK BAR BEHAVES WIERD.
NETWORK BAR FLUCTUATES VERY FREQUENTLY, SOMETIMES ZERO SOMETIMES FULL.
WORST IS, TOUGH IT SHOWS VALID NETWORK BUT MANY TIMES ACTUALLY THEIR IS NO COMMUNICATION. IF CALLED FROM OTHER PHONE, IT SAYS UNREACHABLE, THOUGH THEIR IS NETWORK.
IF DIALLED FROM C5, MANY TIMES NO RESPONCE, KEEPS SHOWING DIALLING.
THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE SIM BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN USING THAT FOR YEARS AND WITH 6303c WITH NO PROBLEM.
I ACTUALLY DONT KHOW IF MY PHONE C5 IS CONNECTED TO NETWORK ALL THE TIME EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS NETWORK BAR.
RESTART C5 DOES NOT HELP. SOMETIMES AFTER RESTARTING THEIR'S NO NETWORK FOR LONG TIME.
I HAVE TESTED THE SIM ON OTHER PHONE WITH NO PROBLEM.
I DONT KHOW IS IT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE PROBLEM.
PLEASE HELP, I AM MISSING CALLS & MESSAGES.
You could first try to reset factory settings by choosing Menu > Settings > Settings > General > Factory settings. The default lock code is 12345.
If resetting factory settings doesn't help, you can do the hard reset by keying in *#7370#. Please note that hard reset deletes all information from the phones memory so making a backup is needed before it.
If the issue still continues after hard reset, please get the phone checked at nearest Nokia Care Center.

recently my friend bought another C5 and has the same problem.
i dont under stand if it is batch problm or not?
the phone is practically unusable.
80% tme no incoming/outgoing even with or without network bar.
i havent seen anybody complaing the same on any forum.
nokia care says they dont have the infrastructure so they have to send C5 to delhi which would take more than 15 days.
please help i am frustated with this.....
Even i am facing the same problem! just bought the handset yesterday, and now its showing the same signs as said by you...i just dont know what to do?
I too have faced exactly the same problems,,
Sometimes restarting the phone re establishes the network connection.
Sometimes for 3-4 hrs it doesnt work at all.
Actually guys i had faced a similar kind of problem too but i got my mobile replaced with another C5-00 and now hav installed the latest firmware.
This phone of mine is now totally unbelievably awesome now...!!!!
Yes, please update your firmware to the latest version from the device manager.
Press *#0000# -> Options -> Check for Updates , and update to the latest firmware.
