Hi Guys,

If my C7 screen is on and I receive a call, the screen switches off. I have to either use screen unlock to turn it back on or hit on other buttons to bring it back on and receive a call. And if the screen is off it remains the same when I receive a call and have to go through the same process to switch it on and receive a call. Well I cal receive a call using the green button, but any idea why this happens?

The screen gets turned off during a phone call when the proximity sensor is covered. This is done to avoid accidental touch screen actions when keeping the phone close to the ear during the phone call. The proximity sensor is located in the top part on the display side of the device (e.g. Nokia N8-00, C6-01, C7-00, E7-00, Nokia Lumia phones).
If the screen gets turned off immediately when dialing a number or receiving a call, check that you are not covering the proximity sensor e.g. with your finger. Check also that there's no protective foil tape on the screen which would cause the proximity sensor to react too easily and turn off the screen when still in the process of setting up the phone call. If using 3rd party screen protectors, the protector may not be of the right size and will cover the proximity sensor, causing blank screen issues during the calls.

Hi,

I think I did not put my question correcty. What I meant was that the screen goes blank when my phone rings and Ihave not yet received the call. I have to use the screen unlock button to unlock the screen and then receive the call or reject the call. I can receive or reject the call by using the buttons at the cottom of the phone but as the screen is blank (switched off) I dont know who has called or the call is from which number hence I have to use the screen unlock button to first get the screen on and then decide to receive or reject the call.

Any idea why this happens and what do I do?

Correction. The screen does not switch on at all even after using the screen unlock button.

Have you tried updating the software or doing a factory reset?

Already done the hard reset to factory settings by deleting all the data and further updated the software to the latest version available. But the problem remains.
