I'm trying to use the "Nokia Email" application from my Nokia C5-03 phone and I found a bug in its workflow.
First I've bought a data-plan from my current provider, then I've configured the Email application to be able to connect to my nokiamail inbox. All good so far, I'm able to read my emails as I wanted.
Next I've changed the settings to check my inbox every 5min. Great! This worked as I wanted, the application notified me about any new emails. Sometimes, not sure why, the connection cannot be made and the inbox is not checked. That's fine, maybe later the connection is available but the applications turns off the automatic retrieval so it will never check my inbox again.
At this point I've tried to turn back on the automatic retrieval in the settings and all works great until the next connection drop. It happens every x attempts, where x is 2 in the worst case and 7 the best so far. Having to enable over and over that setting makes pointless to have an automatic retrieval ability. That's what the software should help us do: automatic jobs. Maybe the settings should have a section for those who would like to turn off the automatic retrieval after connection drops or something. I'm not sure who would want to use such a feature. In general, for example if a download is failing the download software will retry it after a delay.
Background info:
Nokia Suite tells me that my phone has the software up to date (V 21.0.003 installed) and the Nokia Email application is at version 10.02(39).
I hope Nokia will update the Email application to allow me to use a real automatic retrieval function.
Thanks.
