Lost all numbers after a back up.

Ok I may have done something wrong but not sure. I got my father a memory card for his c3-01 as it
Kept saying memory full after he took a picture.
I put it in and after going thought the phone I tried doing a back up to memory card. Thinking that would save everything from the phone to the card. Now there's no numbers in the phone and when I try a back up restore it says there's nothing there.
What can I do to get his numbers back?

Try looking in contacts and change the setting/phone or sim you may have them on phone.
If not they are gone,you should sync your phone once a week to avoid loss of data
