We are not here to file petition but have a meaningful discussion to get our issues resolved and to help each other. Some of the Nokia employees have volunteered to monitor these posts and they are helping us.
While, I do agree that this issue is really troublesome and bothering all of us; it would be fair to let Nokia come with a solution. We are not here to score some brownie points trying to prove each other wrong.
To clarifiy, I'm not an employee of Nokia, nor a fan nor a share-holder. If every issue were to be decided by petitions, then we are setting wrong precedent.
Very good to see this mail, but kindly do this ASAP and we are awaiting for your update of S/W, this should resolve all mail related issues also.
I'm not sure that the "root cause" is a problem of empty RAM... Look, some of phones are working properly (I think most of C6) and they've got the same software, etc... I think it might be a problem of close sensor. I red that one guy put a small piece of black scotch tape on this sensor and it solved the problem... I cant check it because my C6 is in the nokia care for 2 weeks... Can U verify that?
I also think We shouldnt complain here - it's poinltless. Nokia cant leave it without any solution. It's enought big problem to hide it, so wait carefuly... The problem is nokia care and their solutions with broken phones... But that's the story for different post...
It has problem due to it's RAM, Nokia Lied us about it,
even N72 can run more applications than C6, and N72 has much low RAM if compare to C6,
when i clean up my RAM it goes to 40 - 45 MB by 'RAMblow' Application, & i do close & kill the Active Applications (which cannot be exited manually) by 'Pagagon's Handy Taskman'
but hardly get reached to 50MB free RAM by both Procedure, what the hell is this?
1. Firstly it gives least free RAM
2. among 20 < 30 MB IT EAT up 5MB for 300kB Application, it do eat whole ram to open 5 MB Application...
who the hell MOD this Cellphone this way huh!!!

MANY OF MY FRIENDS GOT HANG REDUCED AMAZINGLY like 70% (mutual 3 to 5 times Hangs a day, it was more than 25 times/day) OF THIS NOKIA C6-00 BY CLEANING THE RAM MEMORY.
I BET THIS PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED BY INCREASING RAM or MODDING IT RIGHT WAY.
Same problem in here in my mother's brand new C6 (bought from shop October 21st,2010) which is hanging many times a day and sometimes even if nothing is done (no applications open and no calls made/received).

Quick status update: everything is going as planned and the result of the meeting was more or less a success. There are still some things which need checking, but these are things which shouldn't cause any further delays. My estimate is that we'd have the solution in place globally on latest on Wednesday.
And to the question regarding the root cause: No, I still can't publish any kind of details.
Anyhow, after everything is ready I'll post the instructions to this thread of what you'll have to do, so please be patient. I know this is not the easiest situation for you, but unfortunately this kind of things take some time.
Ok laitos, thanks for the info! I was thinking about sending my mother's C6 to the Nokia repair tomorrow but I guess I'll wait for your instructions on the matter before doing that. Hopefully they will solve the hanging-problems and she'll be able to start trusting the phone to work all the time. Thanks again!

Where we have waited so long, we can wait for another two days. Hope every thing goes well after your globally updation. I am still anxious to know the Root Cause of Hanging of C6 and other related issues, ever come in this thread.

The issue I encounter with my C6-00 so far is only mail-related. Using Nokia e-mail to link to our mail server, it retrieves mails once. If I want to refresh my mails, it hangs. After shutting down and starting up again, it retrieves mails again. So every new retrieval of mail requires a reboot. Also, I have´t been able to send out a single mail. I also upgraded to the latest software.

I do believe you, Laitos. Really.
But FORTUNATELY this incident cause Nokia lose my trust. I will never again buy any Nokia device, not before I made thorough Google search about the product's review and make sure it is fine. I'll wait at least a month for that. I meant to invest my money on this C6, not buying pieces of **bleep** attached each other, packed beautifully, and sold for almost US $300.
If you can't tell us the root cause, its fine. I'll just curse those damn Nokia meeting board for not give us the details. They wont lose anything. Just say (for example) "Okay. The root cause is that we want to steal our customer's money. Do anything you can to get your money back. Hahaha!"

this should clear all POP/IMAP problems also. Hanging and locking is big issue. system is resetting automatically.
