C6-00 : Display of Contact info on Incoming Calls

Issue : Any incoming calls does not show the Contact name or Photo, even if using the samephone number thats has been added to the contact.

Have tried with both place "0" and country code "+91" for India in front of the phone number.

Can any one direct me to where for I can get into the settings for that and the procedure to doit.

This happens if you have saved one number twice (more than once). Suppose you have saved 9878787856 with the name - Uncle as well as Sam uncle in your contact, it will not show any picture or name, instead it will just show you the number.

Please note that I will not post anything to the "Contact Us" section of Nokia's website, simply because this is a global issue. If someone from Nokia reply my "Contact Us" posting, no one here will see it. And also, I will not contact local Nokia Care until Laitos give us the solution, because at this moment, mostly they are not aware about this issue.

My C6-00's situation:

- the hanging problems still occurs, though the frequency is reduced after I install a Task Manager software to clean up RAM (up to 52Mb free), never use any screen-lock method, turning off sensors (but proximity sensor cannot be de-activated, isn't it?). But yesterday probably the worst, because I was listening to music when suddenly then phone "sleeps".

- Never tried Software Updater, so I don't know if it working or not.

- Wifi working fine, even for the encrypted one. Too bad that I can only use default web browser and Opera. Wifi connection is not available in OVI, and maybe some other online applications.

- Sent SMS messages is saved after I move the storage to Memory Card. But I'll keep my eyes on it.

so till now these helps are available

1.put auto lock off done

2. sensors to be deactivated. done

3. home screen apps removed done

4. email account synchronization disabled done

5. wait for laitos 'the saviour'

still hanging 4-5 times a day. No matter if it shaking around in my pocket or still laying on my table. No matter if it´s cold or wam.

Hopefully there will be a solution within the next days. If not, I quit my 13 year old relationship to nokia and by a HTC. I am tired of looking onto the display 50 times a day only to make sure if it´s working or not. That´s a no-go today

I think NOKIA "C6" stands for "COMPROMISE 6 TIMES A DAY" brcause thats the minimum number of time this cell freezes....NOKIA is no longer trust worthy

I am having29 version, this is very frequently hanging and I need to change this version.

I've got my second C6 for 10 days now, and it just works perfect!

(the first one hung from day 1, so i sent it back within a week, and could get a new phone without any trouble)

Everything is fine now, WLAN, navigation, calling, photo's, bluetooth etc. just work fine, even trying them all together at the same time!

So the good thing is:  there are new C6's without hanging troubles!

Laitos: thanks for all the efforts and info so far, I'm still a happy Nokia-user.

Sorry, I haven't really had time to write much on this week, but I dropped in for a quick post:

PR2 release NSU and FOTA distribution starts on wk47, most probably on Monday.

PR2.01 release NSU and FOTA distribution will start on wk49, exact date has not yet been set. This release will solve the hanging issues.

I'll post the instructions when the SW is available or if the schedule changes.

Guys, if you can live without a phone for so many days or if you can live with that C6 for so many days, why do you need a solution?

After so many days, either you will start compromising or buy another one. That's what NOKIA wants I guess.

Jus this afternoon I went to nokia to claim my nokia c6. and for the 4th effin time it turned off before I can even sign the release order form!!!!

i am so feeeed up!! I swear to God, I will use all my energy just to discourage people from buying nokia phones, not just c6 but all nokia!!

I have asked for at least compensation for the ionconvenince and giv eme extended warranty but they won't..and I have learned today that they will be having 60% off sale tomorrow nationwide for nokia c6...UI wonder why ?!!!! today i have discouraged 3 people

  from buying it even it is on sale!

OK folks I gave back my C6 and bought the brandnew C7. Guess what???

It freezes 5 times in 2 hours!!!!!

I switched it back in delivery status and now, one step after the other, I started type in my contacts manually. No calender, no messages, no pics. no online, Wlan etc. Will keep you informed if it has the same trouble **bleep** my C6.

One more problem and I buy the Iphone.

I asked nokia thru Contact us If there is an manufacturing defect in the phone can you give me the tentative date by which this problem will be rectified?

This wat i get for the answer "Nokia adheres to strict quality assurance guidelines and all our phones and accessories are tested before they are released in order to substantiate the optimal performance of the product"
