No, seriously, the graphical smileys bother me enourmously. I just want to be able to make them text again.

The friendly emoticons are horrible, I can't guarantee I will not murder someone next time I get a text with one in it.

Add an option to disable the graphical display of emoticons, they look ridiculous and childish. They also make my "smartphone" appear like it's some gimmick from the year 1997.

What bothers me most of all is that I see my messages in a different way than my recipients see them, as they do not get the graphical display if they don't have a symbian OS. Possibly leading to a different interpretation.

And you are the first one out of several, maybe even hundreds I've seen in this forum posting about smileys asking them to be removed. LOL.

Almost everybody else wants them put it and finally Nokia gave in.

I hate smileys too, some are pathetic. I prefer simple ":" and ")" instead of those fancy stupid yellow faces.

Okay, to gain Symbian source code access and to accomplish my goal I have founded The Foundation For Removal Of Yellow Smileys Because It Makes Me Extremely Aggressive And It Makes My Cellphone Look Like Some Gimmick From The Year 1997 (Official short name: TFFROYSBIMMEAAIMMCLLSGFTY1997)

I have applied at Nokia as a platform developer with my foundation. Just a matter until they officially accept me so I can finally remove the smileys.
