Synchronise your contact with gmail

To synchronise your contact with gmail:

Menu/Settings/Configuration/Personal configuration settings: Options menu select Add new.

Select Synchronisation and enter the following values:

Account name: Google Sync (or any other name of your choice)

Server address: https://m.google.com/syncml

User name: Your Google account username, e.g.: you@gmail.com

Password: Your Google account password

Select Contacts database: Enter contacts into the Database address field:

User name: Your Google account username, e.g.: you@gmail.com

  Password: Your Google account password

Ensure that Calendar database and Notes database fields are empty.

Ensure that Use preferred access point is set to Yes

Select back to exit this screen and save your settings.

Account name: Google Sync and ensure with the option that it is Activate Menu/Contacts/Synchronise

When asked Synchronize selected data with Google Sync? select Yes

Hope it will work for you!

It was fine with my C3 nokia phone.

Remind: in gmail contact you can import csv or vcard file. And moreover, you can also export to backup (or whatever) your contacts.

Re: Synchronise your contact with gmail

Works for me.

But!

I notice that all syncing with GMail is always done using GPRS, never over Wifi.

To confirm, I removed GPRS settings and the phone can't sync any more. I tried every option but there just doesn't seem any way to sync over Wifi. Note: I can use all other options, browser, email, etc.

Re: Synchronize your contacts with gmail

Hey Guys:

Got a c3 last week when my bb went if for repairs (I am a contractor and even with a otter box it got wet!! Go figure we live in the pacific northwest!!)

Anyways thank you to whoever posted this tip.  Sounds like it is working for everyone except me!!

Heres the deal:

-I have tried 3 times

-first time sync went to 71%

-2nd and 3rd time sync went to 92%

Suggestions??

I am going to check out gmail some more.  Also watchtower or something (BB backup security software thing).  It sucks I lost 500+ business contracts but should have back in a week or so once rogers repairs.

Cheers,

Re: Synchronize your contacts with gmail

The best method so far. I wasted 7 hours of trying to import 700+ contact from my Blackberry to C3 via my macbook. Only this method worked like a gem at the end. Thank you sooo much for saving my contacts!!!

Re: Synchronise your contact with gmail

Hi all, I have got a solution which works for my Nokia X2-01.

First you go to gmail and export your desired contacts in Vcard format. Remember don't export all the contacts at a time as sometimes it doesn't work properly.

Then you need to download vcardsplitter from this link http://vcardsplitter.codeplex.com/

Then split the vcard file that you downloaded earlier. then you will get all the contacts as individual vcards. then go to Nokia PC suits and export all the vcards. You will see that your contacts has been transferred to Nokia PC Suits. Simple isn't it? :smileyhappy:

Re: Synchronise your contact with gmail

first u have to download all contacts in Vcard format, then using Vcard splitter http://vcardsplitter.codeplex.com/ separate them into different files and then synchronise them into your phone using nokia pc suite http://www.nokia.com/in-en/support/product/nokia-suite/?cid=ncomprod-fw-src-na-nokiayo_0x0-nokiasuit... . remember the Vcard splitter will not accept contacts with characters other than period(.) in Name
