Today I encountered a problem with my Nokia C6-01. 
It was just laying on the table when it beeped and said "Connect USB-cable to device" and had a warning sign. So I tried to do that ( with 2 different computers ) and I only got an error message that it didn't work and I have to disconnect. And If I press "ok" when the message appears it disappears for a couple of seconds then it's back again. 

So what to do to get this to disappear?

check that there is no dirt trapped in the port and try a factory restore type in *#7780# security code is 12345

try to instal ovi suite and then check.

Hi,

It sounds like a hardware fault if it just occured as you explained. Best to bring it to a Care Center to have it checked out.

bought the phone 2 month
ago.from yesterday i have similar issue.Usb warning message irritating me. C6 Totally disappointed me.. In market there are lots mobile model with open source OS. I just brought nokia because of branded name.i just want to return my mobile. Tell me what procedure to do? nokia spoiling their names.

I am also facing the same issue since last week and warrenty period just got over on 28th May 2012.

Too many users are facing these issues so it must be considered as manufacturing fault and it must be repaired at free of cost.

Expecting positive responce from branded and trusted name Nokia.

When i went to Nokia care they told they will charge minimum 1500 Rs or maxuimun no limit this is not fair we have already spent 13000 Rs and after exact year we are facing such manufacturing fault seriously this is not fair by Branded Nokia name all such experiences leads Loyal customers towards the other branded company.

I have the same problem and tried just about everything - to no avail. Very disappointing that there is no solution mentioned here other than "bring to Nokia Service Center." I went out and purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3 yesterday. I don't have the flexibility to be without my phone.

I loved the size, simplicity and features of the C6-01, but I need a device that will work. Disappointing.

i'm having the same problem.after updating the firmware to 111.040.1511. when i connect usb to my laptop, phone says error in usb connection, please disconnect the cable. when i disconnect the cable it got hanged and switch off.
