Re: dial-up-connection

I dont believe you can use the Nokia C3 as a modem as you are able to with Symbian^3 devices and some older Symbian devices unfortunately. Would be best to look at other phones for that function mate.

Re: dial-up-connection

Actually, it is possible Adrian.

Hguys, see instructions below my friend.

  1. Install Nokia Suite in your PC or laptop.
  2. Check that you have a SIM card inserted in your phone and that the phone is not in offline mode.
  3. Connect your phone via USB cable or Bluetooth connection to your PC or laptop (USB connection preferred because it provides a faster and more reliable connection).
  4. Accept any installation requests which you may receive in your phone.
  5. In Nokia Suite, select Tools > Connect to internet.

If the connection doesn't succeed, check the connection settings in Nokia Suite menu Tools > Options > Connect to internet. Select your network operator from the list or, if not found, use the manual settings and define the access point name to be used in your operator network. You can also define the user name and password if these are required by your operator.

[ Edited ]

CA-101D is not only compatible with C3-00 and Nokia 500, it is also compatible to other Nokia devices particularly S40 and S60. This means, one connectivity cable can be used to different Nokia devices.

It should not be a concern then if you will use that cable as I mentioned above, it is one of the compatible cables you can use for your device.

Re: dial-up-connection

If your device isn't recognized by PC when plugging via USB cable, try the following actions to recover:

  1. Check that you are using the original Nokia USB cable and that the cable is properly connected to the phone and PC.
  2. Disconnect the mobile device and connect it again.
  3. Remove the battery, insert it back again and restart your mobile device.
  4. Restart your PC.
  5. Try connecting to another USB port on your PC. Connect the phone directly to your PC instead of connecting e.g. via a USB hub.
  6. In Symbian devices, try selecting another connection mode in your mobile device (e.g. Nokia Suite/PC Suite, Mass Storage, Media Transfer). Note that when connecting to Nokia Suite, you need to select Nokia Suite/PC Suite mode (check the connection mode in Settings > Connectivity > USB).

Do you have the Nokia Suite installed already into your PC? If not, you have to download and install it as you will be able to update the software of your device (if there's an update available) or reinstall it (if no update available).

I'm afraid you cannot reinstall the software of your device over the air. You will have to use the Nokia Suite as mentioned above.
