The indicator for "mail  in outbox" is continuously displayed, without any message in the outbox. Probably occured after deleting mail-account.

Any ideas?

I tried every outbox I could find, but all are empty.

Probably some file that's stuck?

did you check multimedia outbox
you can soft reset device back up data 1st
type in *#7370# security code is 12345

multimedia outbox? I only have Menu -> Messages -> outbox.

And outbox in the email-app.

I already did a reset to factory default and reinstalled phone's software through Nokia software updater prog.

Did you try to update your mobile software because my friends  told me it will solve it

Yep, I did a re-install, cause the software was already newest version.

Okay, the *#7370# did clear the icon. But after restoring my backup .... there it was again!

So I repeated the whole process without restoring the messages-part. That fixed it.

Yeah, I had this problem too! :-) What it usually means is the SIM card`s message memory is full, but if you wipe the SIM card`s messages the envelope goes away. Here`s how to do it: 1. Go to Messaging 2. Select Options 3. Select SIM messages 4. Select and delete all the SIM messages That should stop the SIM full error.
