I don't seem to be able to install skype on my C5
via the OVI store, I download it but it says failed to install, I'm on Tmobile in the uk...
any ideas anyone? Ive installed other apps ok
can't see the c5 anywhere on the supported page, and when I send a text to mu number via the skype page it says that my handset isn't supported......?
have TMobile fiddled something to stop me installing skype?
Found the thread below on the Skype forum. There seems to be mixed results on Skype with the C5. Perhaps you could be right with about TMobile.

I found these links from N-series forum.
If the Skype is blocked does it mean that it's impossible to install it too? My mobile we browser Opera says not found with dev.an3k...
And m.skype.com says Skype is not available for your phone, check back later..
I downloaded the above sis.file to my computer but wondernig whether it's worth installing?
If Tmobile blocks skype, can't you just change the operator? If operators work like that I could try to change the country. That's not normal business behaviour.
I believe I saw Skype listed on OVI Store as supported application for C5-00.
New client will support newer S^3 devices and freshly released v3 and v5 models.
Client will have a lot of UI improvements(as far as Symbian UI stack allows us
It's a Staff member of Skype who said the above
I'm working on getting Skype for the C5 (S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2) and might get it in the next days.

Solved with C5-00 but I think will be similar for other C series. If you are unable to install skype, problem is branding for telephone operator. In my case T-Mobile Czech. Each phone has its product code, which defines also what version of firmware will be loaded into the phone. Even the update using the Ovi Suite will only update branded phone with firmware made for this one product code. You will only get a modified firmware for T-mobile, where skype and VoIP are blocked.
There is a easy way to change the product key, then make an automatic update and you will get original nokia firmware, but even this will not solve the problem with blocked Skype.
Right now no t-mobile logos and applications are in the phone and skype is working perfectly.
I am using firmware 071,005 EURO3 right now.
MODERATOR'S NOTE: Post has been edited to remove reference to an unauthorised Nokia procedure that may have unforeseen damaging side-effects, which in turn may invalidate the warranty of a Nokia device.
OK, after the moderator edited my post it does not give much sense, so I will make it simple.
You will never get Skype working on C5 until you have a firmware provided by T-Mobile.
There is a way what to do with, but I can not post it in this forum, because it could damage you phone and leed to lost of your waranty. Unfortunatelly letting mobile operators to make a peace of scrap of Nokia phone by providing cutted firmware does not matter to Nokia at all.
I am able to use skype on my c5-03 and have been using skype on it since May 2011.
To download skype we need to use Ovi store. Simple select the type of hp we are using and then from there it shows the software we can download for our hp, click send to hp and open link n download.
I tried skype site but wasnt able to download as there is no option for c5-03.
Understand the last reply of this post was months ago but since i was googling for skype on c5-03 and saw this link, i feel must as well make this post in case someone who may need this help.
