Now days all new NOKIA phones firmware is veryyyyy veryyyyyy PR , In new phones for instance NOKIA E52 in phonebook if we want to select a paticular NAME it's not possible for ex. I want to call my friend name UDAY , so i will select U to call him , but all names appear that have U (letter) in them , why it's not needed ? if I want to call a particular person i will select a paticular alphabet , so it becomes easy for me to call him , if all names appear with that alphabet , then again i have to scroll for his name , it's waste of time.

 In phonebook we SAVE the name as we feel it's easy to asscess .

SO PLEASE DO SOMETHING AND HELP AND TRY TO IMPROVE FIRMWARE

1st I used to have NOKIA N73 it was perfect , try to put the sane firmware for CONTACTS to E52

I find SW in Nokia Phones EXTREMELY GD and also finding a contact by typing two or three letters very simple and accurate and the only issue that arises is if you have a huge number of contact with the same name, which would cause an issue with all OS's.

Still, everone is entitled to an opinion, and if I had a phone with an OS that made me really unhappy, I would change it for one that made me

@ mukesh007 - You feel that way because you are not using the search function correctly. You need not scroll after just inputting the First alphabet but as mentioned by carman58 , enter the Second alphabet and list will narrow down..and so on..

I too find it very simple ..

well as you said is right but i have a huge list of contacts so it becomes very difficult for me to search .???????????
for eg. IF I want MICHEL so all contacts starting from M will not be displayed in fact all alphabets that comes before M ( ie A to L ) which are there in my contacts list will be displayed . LIKE MIKE , CHEEIME , LECHAM , IMTIAZ , EMUEAL , HEMANT --- these all contacts will be displayed before MICHEL , SO THIS IS WRONG SW as I want names from M only names starting from M should be displayed - IF YOU CAN TRY NOKIA N73 - 6600 - 3230 6150 MANY other nokia phones are there where the SW is perfect , you can try thia out on the NOKIA phones I have mention .

Hello.
I did not try a E52 but I had a E71 so I think it works the same.
If you typed M and you got Cheeime or Lecham is because their middle name or last name beggins with M.
In my opinion this method of search if is better than filtering only names because you can find someone if you forgot his name but you remember his last name.

What you said above i totally don't agree with you ? how can one forget someone who is in the contact list + which ever way you want to find NAME OR BY LAST NMAE still the problem doesn't get solve we get all other names which we r not searching...............

WELL  I THINK NOKIA NEEDS TO IMPROVE THE NEW FIRMWARE ??????

In my opinion too, the search as it is is very helpful and fully agree with claudio_b_p . Since a person's name is in 'Contacts' doesn't mean we remember the full name.. e.g. All family members and close friends we always call by their FIRST name.. where as anyone related to Business most probably are known and called by thier LAST name... though users may beg to differ...

I would like to use the phone book to store contacts. If I call somebody tor epair the gas, in 3 months I forget his name. But remember gas. Or I record also the ickname of somebody in the field of nickname. How could I search for anything else, han family name (simbian S40), like nickname, family or memo?
