I have the same question for my Nokia 5800,
I can only save new Routes but it seems to be impossible to delete rotes from the collection
please help!
I can delete places from my favorites but not routes because when "klicking on them "calculating route" starts!

The curious thing about the Nokia phone is that there are actually lots of shortcut keys, but they don't seem to be properly documented.
I actually found out how to delete routes by trying out an educated guess... and it worked.
Do this:
Select / highlight the route that you'd like to delete. Then press the backspace (delete) key. :-)
(it worked on my non-touchscreen E72, I'm not sure if there's a keyboard interface for the touchscreen 5800 though, but tell us how you did it if the idea worked.)

Kindly click the "Kudos" if this solution works for you. Thanks.

Thank u very much, but there is no keyboard interface in the Nokia 5800 for this situation( or i did not find it?)

There's documentation for the Ovi Maps 3.03 from here (there are 2 versions -- one is for non-touch screens and the other is for touch screen devices)
http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/ma
If you need to delete places or routes, or add a route to a collection, go to the Ovi Maps Service at www.ovi.com"
It looks like even the PDF documentation doesn't mention that one can delete favorite route by pressing the backspace key... It only mentions going online and access Ovi Maps from a web browser. Perhaps, you could tinker around with the touchscreen interface and see if anything corresponds to the "backspace" key? ;-)

I found a work around for the Nokia 5800:
Go to Settimgs>application-manager>installed apps> and delete file "Nokia Maps 9Mb".
Then open maps: Ovi maps 3.01 opens : there u can easily delete the routes
Then install Ovimaps 3.03 (the installer file is still on your memory card)

Hmm. Reverting to old version of Ovi Maps and reinstalling the latest version again just to delete favourite routes doesn't seem to be a good workaround, I guess... :-(
I suppose one could request an easier way to delete unneeded favourite routes more easily (perhaps contact Nokia tech support).. Anyway, glad that you found that workaround. I already forgot how routes worked in 3.01.. ;-)

well the procedure reverting deleting one file of 9mb and reinstallnng 3.03 does not take long.
By the way i think that 3.03 is just a special interface for ovimaps- but its lacking some functions.
Routes work much better and easier in 3.01.
But hope for an update of 3.03 (especially also because of the "cant find route" bug in some situations)

They seem to think that you would do most of your route planning on your PC. You can delete the routes from maps.ovi.com (in your account), provided you have already synced your phone before. When you delete from your browser and sync again, well your route is gone as well.

On a 5800, simply highlight the route to remove.
Then press the search (keyboard) prompt at screen bottom.
In Keyboard, press backspace and you will be asked if you want to delete route.
Thanks to ferdinand for pointing me in the right direction.
Its a nice feeling to solve a problem like this, especially when working with others.
However, should not a procedure like this, be made either more intuitive or explained somewhere?

I do it using clear key <c> from virtual keyboard app.

Try the alphanumeric pad. It worked for me in the 5800XM, but neither the full or mini keyboard

Thanks - gotta use alpha-numeric keyboard! But as someone said earlier, surely this sort of function should be more obvious? Anyway, it works and that's good ![]()

For those with touch screens, one way (and what seems the only way) is to log onto ovi-maps online. Sync your phone so that your routes appear online. Then in the online map, right-click on one of the start/end routes and then client "Remove Route". This then will remove it off your phone when you sync your maps again.
Very strange process. I'm using version 3.04 so nothing seems to have been resolved in this version either.
