I used to use Nokia Photo Browser to see my pictures, instead of the default Gallery (hope this is the right name in English).
Somehow, recently I couldn't see the latest pictures with Photo Browser and I found that my Camera NOW stores the pictures in E:\DCIM\100NOKIA instead of E:\PICTURES\ecc.
I've tried a rest of the settings of Camera but with no success.
Any suggestion on how to restore things? Thanks

Using Nokia Photo Browser upon N8 Belle a similar S^3 device with no such issues. Have you tried removing the memory card from phone put it in your computer and copy all existing photos and videos from E:\Pictures to E;\DCIM\100NOKIA?
You may possibly need to delete thumbnail cache in /Private/10281e17/[102830AB]thumbnail_v4.db which will be rebuilt when you open application again.

Thank you for your help, aspergerguy.
I can't delete that file, though. I can only see it with Mobile Guard file browser (the built-in, X-plore and Y-browser can't do) but I'm not allowed to delete it.
I haven't removed the memory card (I don't have it, in the E6 E:\ is built in) and have only used Nokia Suite to manage them, and maybe the Windows file explorer.
Couldn't it be that some app has modified the default setting? I have installed Panorama for example..

Provided that you enable "Show hidden & system files" upon your PC, these files should be visible if device connected in "Mass storage" mode.
If I remeber correctly with X-plore > go to Menu > Tools > Configuration > enable "Show system files/folders"
