E7-00: How can I terminate/stop running applications?

I'd like to save resources and, thus, like to terminate some running applications without having to restart my E7-00.

How can I do this?

install App Stop from Futurice, available in Ovi Store for free. Works perfect.

Hold the Home/Menu button for one second and you'll have the task manager pop up. Tapping on the "X" will terminate the respective app.
