I recently bought a Nokia E71, but the battery won't charge. I plug it in, and it says it's "charging", but it's not actually charging it. The "Low Battery" screen keeps popping up and then the "Charging" screen pops up. Constantly. It's like it knows it's plugged in to the charger, but not charging anything. Anybody have any ideas? Is this a known issue that's easily fixed? Or should I just take it back to the shop (it's still well under warranty)?
Thanks in advance.
The battery just died completely. It's plugged into the charger at the wall (and I know there's nothing wrong with the power supply given I've tried this on 4 different wall sockets which are powering other devices just fine). The phone won't turn on at all.
Should I just call it a dud and take it back to the shop?
Looks like you are going to have to take it back to where you bought it from.
If you have the chance, try charging the handset with another battery. It could simply be a faulty battery, hopefully where you bought it from may have some spare batteries.
