turn your phone off.
hold down * key and 3 key
press and hold down power key (green call button) while still holding down * and 3 buttons.
you can let go once the screen powers up.
The phone will reinstall it's OS. this will delete everything you have on the phone (contacts, messages even some bundled software)

The green call button is not the power key on the E71 - it has a separate power button. So the question is, for an E71 do you hold down * and 3 AND green button while pressing the power button, or just * and 3 while pressing the power button (which is not the green call answer button)?

May be some people didnt understand the procedure of (Green+3+*(star)) buttons. all you have to do switch off the phone, Lift the bettery a lil bit up from terminals now press the above mentioned buttons on the Keypad serially, Connect the bettry & Immediatly Switch on the phone dont leave these three buttons until ur phone lights on with Nokia Logo.
Thats All,
I tried the same Method thanks to Every one

Alright I'm done with the hard reset as mentioned in previous posts. I restored the backup I made earlier on my memory card but it restored each and everything, can anyone explain me how can I restore the contacts & messages alone and leave the rest as fresh as it is after the hard reset? ![]()
