Dear all,
I believe I have by mistake deactivated the onscreen SMS notification (bottom of the screen next to missed calls), anyone knows how to get this one back?

sipmply follow these steps

Menu/settings
general/personalisation
stand by mode
active stand by plugins
select message notifier and ur job is done

keep updated about the progress....

On the Personalization screen, press Home screen. On this screen, make sure that "Active" is enabled. Then press Mode settings, then Home screen applications, then Enabled applications. On that screen, you will see a list with squares some of which are ticked and others not. The ticked items appear on your active home screen. Scroll through the list and tick the Message notification box.

The check box is already checked, I tried to uncheck, turn off, check off/on again. Still nothing happens. I get the missed calls as usual but no longer the useful sms notifications...

Oh dear! To be honest, I am not an expert beyond the obvious. However, it strikes me that you could try restoring your phone to factory settings - down the list on the same page as Personalisation. Back up phone first, and you may lose shortcuts and installed (unsigned)apps.

Has anyone been able to solve this problem because i am experiencing the exact same problem and I tried all those things (including restoring my factory settings) and the notification box still wont show up!

I have had the same issue. Does anyone have any fix? Because this just started happening recently when my inbox grew past 2500 msgs.

I am also having the same issue where my onscreen Email notification no longer shows - it worked up until yesterday and I cant seem to get it back.

Yes this is simply a bug.
Delete your sms to get below 2500 messages and it naturaly comes back. Let's hope Nokia will solve this...

Clean out your inbox, do you really need to hold onto 2500 messages? a lot of which are probably single or double word replies? I'm sure if you do whittle it back down to say 500 your phone might even get more responsive.....

I've faced this problem for very long time and this is the first time I know it is caused by overwhelming SMS in inbox! And....it REALLY WORKS!!!! Thanks for all your guys' effort!!!! Feeling so HAPPY

well this is what i did and it worked for me, so u can give a try theres no harm in it..

menu
settings
general
personalisation
home screen
mode settings then switch mode (this will revert to default setting)
then do same things again
general
personalisation
home screen
mode settings then switch mode 9this should revert to your personalised settings)

dont know if its going to work for all you but it did for me

This issue has nothing to do with the number of messages. It was working fine with me and it stopped working at 2200SMS. The reason why it stopped is that I hide it by mistake and never could get it back. restoring to factory settings wont do it, upgrade the software to the latest version wont do it as well. settings are fine, but the box is just not appearing.
