I just received my Nokia E71, in App Manager i cant find the option to set permissions for J2ME Application.

Is it because of the old Midp 2.0 engine (in that case why is old Midp2.0 integrated instead of 2.1)or Nokia just forgot this menu ?

could it be possible to upgrade the midp in further fw versions ?

If I go to app manager, and then open any java application, I get the options to set permissions like network access, messaging etc! Does not seem to be different from any other S60 phone.

Are you referring to this, or some other settings?

yep, thats what i ment

strange that i dont have options for network access e.t.c. on my device ?! seems that the menu is lost ..

My firmware is also 100.07.76. I get the settings for all the apps. I've got the follwing Java apps: Opera Mini, Youtube, Gmail, Mobicast, Widsets and Yahoo Go. However, within each setting, the options you can set will different from app to app.

here is how it looks on my device after opening app manager > browsing to opera mini > options:

Open
View details
Send
Go to web adress
Remove
View Log
Settings
Help
Exit

under settings i only find

Software Installation: signed only / all
Online Cert check on/off
Default Web Adress

but where is the menu for permissions ?

After selecting opera mini in the app manager, please don't press the option button (left soft button). Instead, press the central button in the D-Pad, then you'll get two options in the menu.. "Open" and "View details". select "Open" and press the central button in the D-Pad again, and then you'll get all the options for the app.
