Re: E90 - :( Official answer to our complaints... :(

Hi All,

Yes the E90 has problems but they are small and can be fixed by a firmware update. The phone is fast but very practical. The only real issue is the screen touching the keys and the speaker. I just wonder if we send it in if Nokia would replace the cover with the new one and fix the speaker issue.

Otherwise I'm very very happy with the phone.

May I ask what country you are from? as here in the Philippines, the E90 was launched in august but after the initial batches were depleated (maybe 2 weeks) there have been none in the market. also i have read articles that state production was stopped. to rectify some HW issues.

Would also appreciate feedback of the 50 or so ex 9X00/ present and future E90 users you have. tnx

I wonder if you have ever experienced the phone slowing down after sending an SMS or when about to recieve one. I find this happening to me. My habit is right after sending an sms I proceed to write a second one or maybe try to go to contacts so i can call someone else. I cant seem to do this efficiently as the phone slows down to a virtual crawl as i navigate thru the diff menus.

thanks

They will fix it, and in some cases replace the phone if need be.

1. In Africa and not S.A.
2. If I compare returning of handset we had much more retuned hand set (in %) in the 9300 deleiveries. In fact It was the second mostly returned handset of Nokia to us.

Re: E90 - :( Official answer to our complaints... :(

Hi all I'm from Malaysia,
I used to own 9500 and loved it and when i saw E90 it was love at first sight that I bought 2 Red and Mocha. (1 for wife)
One of them was fine and the other had speaker problem, brought back to nokia service centre but they can't do any thing as its a new phone so they change me to a brand new one :smileyhappy:
Initially the lack shortcuts guidance was a pain, the sub menu in contacts or messages was easier to read in 9500 and then I chnaged my mind & preferred my old 9500 but after a month I think E90 its a better phone overall.. picture and software features.. the smooth feel classy and yet stylish..
Although I find when i use bluetooth headsets the sounds is not clear.. I am not sure if its my headsets as its a SonyEriccson one or the phone.. anyone got a problem with this?

Sure, features comes with price :smileywink:

How about lead product, 9500? Any estimates if you compare 9500 & E90?

Re: E90 - :( Official answer to our complaints... :(

As wrote before,
9500 has a feezing problem.
E90 till now is stable.
Keep in mind that MOST users (AV. users) are not using 50% of phone potential. But if there phone freeze twicw a day, they are sending it back (if they can...)

In mobile, I don't care does the device freeze or have proplems with voice. Both cases service it is :smileywink:

Yes. I see you feel dropping all features is the best answer. But there are already mass products? Why make also communicator such. Yes, most people use 50%. But are those same 50% or 50% among different features.

+ you must be kidding twice a day freezing? If you refer to 9500. As I used 9500 about two years. No proplems at all with crashing. 9300 maybe had more proplems, but only in some devices.

+ have to add.. Now there is also sw update via net? There were no such with older communicators.

I just had to eject the battery this morning, no way to stop a communication !

2nd time I have this kind of problem !

For sure, stability is not the right qualifier for my E90 !

Before you did mention 9300 was second in returns. Not 9500.

Now discussed in here, 60% of E90 have that mic / voice proplem. So still E90 is stable?

My car runs 180km/h. I drive max 120km/h. So i don't use max potential in there either? This is normal? Most cars runs 200km/h. People drive 80km/h avarage. Why do cars have extra potential? MOST drivers use less then 50% of potential in car. So what?

Again, PC. MOST people use much less then 50% of PC potential.

You bye DVD. Almost all has DD / DTS. Most people don't have home theater, they watch just from TV speakers. They will loose 50% of sound potential stored in DVD.

Everywhere there is extra potential. Also in mobiles. Communicator might be then first thinking to loose 'extra potential'?

My question is: "Why do you still have your E90s if they are so terrible?" Sell them. You can get top dollar for them right now. Ebay (get it? E as in E90) is waiting. Sell it and take away the misery in your lives.

Any Finnish guys in this thread with an E90? If so, and you want to see an E90 with the upgrade, they have on at the Flagship store in Helsinki.

You touch the point !

I dont't want to let it fallen !
Y have propose to Nokia Test Center to test that famous E90 BEFORE i got it... but they refused !

Now, I understand why ... ;-)

I'll try tomorrow, if timing allows, to go to the Nokia Care Center !

I really want to have what I paid for.
More than this, I want everyone to have what they paid for !

I don't care about people telling me how futile are my remarks.
My remarks are all based, reliable and reproductible !
This make them objective ;-)

Now it is more than possible Nokia will not appreciate this and will finally block me or delete my posts.
If it is the case then too bad ...

Now I really hope the new FW will solve most of the problems.

Best regards,
Domdom

e90 short comings

My number 1 improvement the phone is cased in metal not cheap plastic like the
92xx,9500, or 9300 which would break from a fall of 1m. the 9500 died after just 2 yrs and a few falls.

My number 1 problem with the phone is that packet data goes
off when a phone call is active. This is a major step backwards as I use the phone as both a phone and a modem so I can talk on the phone and use the web at the same time. Not tried using voip and web at the same time to see if that get's around the problem. Will the
infer red support full 3G speed?

Lack of FAX support also a step backwards.

The gps needs to be tricked (always go to view satts before
using the gps somehow viewing the satt finds them) to work. But once it starts even in the wilds of Oregon or WA will find what little there is find.

The problem with incoming calls
not fully connecting occurs less often, as does the events
of the phone freezing compared
to the 93/9500.

I just wish, that paris hilton
doesn't have a communicator but
lots of men with big hands do
so making it too small just slows down the typing of 99.999% of the users.

Lastly what genius made the power supply smaller. I spent
the better part of week looking
for a car charger and/or wall
charger in LA, to only find a car charger had to drive all the way to OR to find a wall charger that would fit.

Support in the USA for the communicator has gone from very
good to non existant. Owning a
e90 in the states is like owning a superdome in iran you just know it's diy as calling support will get you now where.
mkt-ing really needs to get a clue that when you shell out the cost of a good hp laptop and be an early adapter put your **bleep** mkt-ing policies were
the sun don;t shine and give as
so much support till it hurts, the sales will come.
