How to Activate Torch In Nokia E5-00

I press (space bar button) long time but not activated...

Is any thing in Setting Menu...

Please tell me

Im not sure, but it might have to do with the light sensor in front of your E5. Hold a finger on the small area next to your speaker (the see-through area of 1 x 1mm), I think that does it .. not sure though.
I'd like to see other answers as to why this happens too ..

I've got the same problem, holding the space bar down for even 20secs doesn't activate the torch. I can't say I've noticed any settings for this anywhere so is it a bug. It used to work when I first had it but after a few weeks (and configuring it) it doesn't like work. Help would be appreciated.

I have found the torch only turns on while the phone is displaying the home screen. If the keypad is locked the torch only stays on while the space bar is depressed. If you unlock the keypad you can lock the torch on with the space bar.

Trail & error but no instructions.

Guys,

I think its due to a small software bug. But there's one APPARENT work-around that I discovered.

Two possible cases :

Case 1:
If your standby screen is in ACTIVE mode, turn it to BASIC mode (or any other non-ACTIVE mode). Then check if the torch is working.

Case 2:
If your standby screen is in a mode other than ACTIVE mode, turn it to ACTIVE. Then check if the torch is working.

Basically, you just need to switch between active and non-active modes and then see if your torch is working.

same here, the torch on my E5-00 stopped working after a few weeks and changing the mode doesn't help. Also the flash for the camera stopped working as well. Maybe there's something wrong with the torch itself, possibly a design flaw. Can anyone from Nokia address this issue?

Its just a software issue. The Nokia E5's torchlight on comes on/stays on when in homescreen. And when ever it doesn't come on in homescreen mode, free up the RAM a little (close apps you ain't using) and try again.

Basically, two steps:

1. Go back to the home screen.
2. Press and hold the space bar until the torch activated.

If however it does not work for you, I would speculate it is a hardware issue. Are you able to see flash light when the phone camera works at dark?
