Hello there I wonder if anybody can help me. I have a strange but rather annoying problem with the nokia e5's chat application. It was working when I first got the device a month or so ago but now everytime I go to connect to any of the services including Windows Live Messenger which is the one I want to use I get the following message :

"The communities you have selected are currently not available in your region or for your operator. By pressing 'Reject', you will have access to Ovi Chat, Nokia's chat community. For more information, visit www.nokia.com/messaging."

However there is no option to 'Reject'. After I press ok a message comes up saying "checking for new IM updates" followed by a message reading "Service upgraded. Now you can fully experience your favourite providers"

After this I am back to the login screen and the process just starts from the beginning. Is anybody else having this same problem? or even better know a solution for it? I'm sure it cant be my region because I live in England and some of my friends have Nokia phones and their chat application is fully functional.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the exact same message come up. I only started trying Nokia Chat the other day after upgrading my Nokia E71 to the latest version. Chat was also installed and then I upgraded it to the latest version of Ovi Chat. I can log into Ovi Chat with the other communities switched off or whatever happens, however when I try to log into Google Talk or any other it fails...

Yip same problem for me on my E63, i read somewhere it was to do with the type of subscription to the messaging service that was the problem, something to do with its a trial, but i have never found a way to change it. is anyone out there?? hello NOKIA are you listening??? whats the point of offering your users a service that no one can use????? am i alone here???

Hi In  my nokia E5,

IM chat for NOKIa that is the application we get indefault and it will be there in menu>Internet>chat

but it got deleted accidentally

but tht is there in Cntrl panel>Datamngr>App Mgr>Chat

but how to instal tht???

I am unable to download using nokia sttore also..what s the solution..???

you can check if there are any updates via SW Update on the device itself, but failing that, you can try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite. Failing that, probably the only way you can get the app back is to take your phone to your local Nokia Care: http://nokia.com/support
