Has somebody already installed it, I just got message from Nokia that its available
Any noticeable effects ? Bricking phones? Is bluetooth problems gone? I don't want to update yet until somebody tells me the difference. I'm not so crazy person, even though I'm a Finn.

For now it is just a very limited release, having only China and Finland country variants listed... We have to wait for more variants to appear in order to have reviews.

Can somebody verify is BT hands free connection more stable now and connection doesn't drop any now and then?
Its always little scary to update a phone because I know that it can cause more serious problems than current firmware and its not possible to downgrade
Uuh this sounds nice

Hello,
I have the same Nokia E52-1 but I have a very strange problem.
I can't open the Messaging (the SMS menu). It's not possible anymore. I try with the SMS button on the keyboard and from the menu.
It tries to open for a second and it is just blinking and coming back to the previous menu. Very strange as I did not change anything to the phone.
Please advice what to do?
Thanks

If you're not having this firmware which we are talking about why do you post to this thread.
You can check your firmware version with *#0000#.

Sorry about that. I will look for a solution elsewhere.
I was just thinking that you might have an idea about my case.
Cheers

Well, I tried it tonight. Here are my thoughts:
* Predictive text is still quirky.
* The SIP client's STUN implementation is still broken (so SIP is unusable).
* The light sensor still doesn't work properly.
* The IMAP client still doesn't implement IMAP IDLE.
* That privacy invading new mail account wizard is still there.
Frankly, I see no improvement, but no regression either. What I do see is more Ovi this and more Ovi that. This update seems like Nokia just wants to push more of their Ovi rubbish onto us rather than fix annoying bugs.
Happy to answer any specific questions.

Oh, and there's still no Internet Radio or Podcasting apps. This phone is such a step back from the E51. I'm glad I kept my old phone.

This phone has all sorts of problems. The Internet Radio problem is fixed in 2 minutes by installing the version for the 6210 and then accessing Internet Radio from the Radio application in Media.
That's not the problem. The phone's an unstable waste of time.

Sadly that doesn't work for me. I just get "install error" when trying to install that version of internet radio.

Hello all,
I wanted to ask whether the new firmware update makes the problem with not being heard by people with whom I'm talking with disappear.
2010-02-04 19:34
Unfortunately I can't confirm an improvement with voice quality as I never experienced bad voice quality with the previous firmware.
2010-02-06 15:59
The new firmware seems to have broken AAC support in the music player. MP3s still work fine but the player is unable to play back AAC files. Anyone else experiencing this?

Okay I upgraded my firmware, couple minutes ago. Maybe UI responsiveness is faster than before, but it might be placebo effect also.
And somehow it feels like icons have been reorganized in symbian home. Something has happened there. Can somebody confirm this?

I just can't believe that no one can confirm whether the last firmware update fixed the voice quality problem or not, after so many people complained about it on this forum. Come on people!!!

Upgraded yesterday with following findings so far.
1) No capitals in T9
2) Bluetooth problems with my car's handsfree system remain (I have tried other phones, several nokias, with no problems)
3) Volume at max level of speaker, during a call, too low (although volume when listening music or radio very loud)
4) Volume at max level of handsfree (either wired or wireless), during a call, too low
(although volume when listening music or radio very loud)
5) Meetings in calendar does not work as it supposed to work (alert can not be set at a specific time, reminder does not stay on the screen more than 30 minutes and then dissapears etc.)
6) Icons on the calls registry are always mobile phones no matter what kind (mobile or fixed line) you have dialed.
All those issues remain as they were in the previous version.
I also had some problems with voice cutting during phonecalls, which was rare and I have to test it for a while in order to see whether it was fixed or not.
Personally, extremly dissapointed and thinking of replacing it if I find the time for a transfer of my data from E52 to another device. I just can't use the phone with a hands free, plus several minor functions are frustrating me and make the phone user un-friendly, which is what I am looking for to a mobile phone. After all Nokia promises PRODUCTIVITY.
