Hi,
I would request all of your attention to the problem i am facing with my new nokia E6-00. I tried to find a solution by googling, but unfortunately i couldn't find ay solution there. Now i am with nokia discussion forum to try my luck.
From the day i purchased this phone, i am facing a problem with usual restarting issue (came to know it is usual from the amount complaints seen in internet) of my all new noia E6 and now iam used to it as there is no proper solution for that.
Here, mine is not that restart issue, infact it is more serious than that. Whenever i try to make a call, the momment i press call button after selecting the contact, the proximity sensor turns red and screen goes balck and irresponsive till i press the "end" button to cancel the call. The same thing is happening even when i am getting a call from someone else. The moment my phone starts ringing, the screen turns black and cant see anything there. Such times, i have to attend the call wihout recoganising the person at the other end. we have no other option just can receie the call by pressing call button else cancel it by pressing "end" button.
Please please someone help me because nobody have any clue about this. Even nokia care nearby my place also doesn't have any idea on this and they need two-three weeks just for checking the issue. They are not sure how long they will take to resolve it and even not sure whether they can solve it in this 3 weeks time.
I tried all the the posibilities like updating firmware, soft reset, hard reset, swith off and on, removing battery, changing network to 2G, etc...etc..everything possible by me. But unfortunately no clue and i am finding this problem continuing from past two weeks.
However, i am trying to approch different nokia care center once again and then Consumer court if they are not able to resolve the issue.
Valuable suggestions/feedbacks are appreciated.......

Hello, Our phone screen goes black once we put it in our ears. Meaning, once the touch screen lcd detects something, it will go black. Maybe the screen detects something? dirt? but in that situation, it would also select some menus. or hardware to software communication problem..

@above.
I knows and experianced it earlier, that the screen will go off if there is something close to the proximity sensor while we make or receive calls. That should work only when a call is connected to other number. Mine is different, the momment you press call button for making a call screen goes off and we cant see anything till w press end button. This is not happening when i keep phone close to my ear of finger. It is happening even when the phone's proximity sensor is open.
Same is happening while receiving calls also, The momment phone starts to ring, screen goes dark and i am unable to recognise who's calling me unless otherwise "say caller's name is "ON". When somebody in my phone book calls, phone will say the name even though the screen remains black.
Anyway since my phone still under warranty, today i am taking this to nokia care once again and will request to them for a new phone as i feels this is a hardware problem. If they are not accepting the next way out is Consumer court in India. Let me try.... will update soon.

Finally, after wasting half a day, my phone has been sent to "head Office"![]()
I have reached Nokia Care near BTM by 10:30 in the morning. I got amazed by seing so many peple waiting there!!!! It took around 1.5 hours for my turn to meet the executives sitting there. After explaining the problems, they asked me to wait for "15" minutes and that 15 minutes went past another 1.5 hours. I was waiting finger crossed for them to give back my phone by rectifying the fault.
After 1.5 hours waiting, that girl called me and said, there is a serious hardware issue with your phone and we need to send that to "Head Office" and said it might take 7 days to give it back. When i checked the aknowledgment, it is written 24.01.2012 as the expected delivery date. I still wonder how that girl could count 7 days from Jan14 - Jan24![]()
I have clearly told her that i do not want that hardware issue to be repaired because being an Engineer in EC i have some ideas about the repair that can be happened at their "Head Office". Infact I asked her for a new phone and she agreed to check with her higher officials on that.
Now my Dilema starts here. I have purchased that phone for pure official/Buissiness use and now i am emptied by their so called "Nokia Care". I donot know what Nokia thinks about such occations, I think they want me to purchase a new phone for the coming 10 days!! Another 10000/- for a cheapest buissiness phone that too for just 10 days!! There should have some arrangements from Nokia for such occations as their customer didn't do anything wrong other than just buying their product.
However I feels I lost my money by buying this and not interested pay much more attention to this.
Will update later if moderators allows me to post here...![]()

No updates.....
No news at all......
That Nokia care is about 14 kM away from my place.
Nokia should have some online system to track the status of phones sent for repair

Finally my issue solved!!
Nokia replaced my Phone after waiting 7 days!!!
It was a lazy weak end evening and I was just in a mood somehow to leave office. All of a sudden I got a call from Nokia care with information that “We could not solve the hardware issue thus Nokia decided to replace your old phone. Your new phone has arrived, please come and collect it”. I was totally amazed, because I did not even remember that it was the day they assured me to give back my phone….
Anyway thanks to Nokia for replacing my phone…. Problem solved!!!

Any updates regarding this problem or more precisely, how/who to contact?
Same issue started yesterday, tried many software refreshs and restores and nothing. It definitely seems like hardware.
How does one contact Nokia in the USA?
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
i buy last week an refurbished nokia e6 because is the single model i like from the market right now...i cannot find a new one.... same problems described here...infrared sensor related
but i found the root of the problem.
HEAT...if i play with phone...or if i talk...or is charging...E6 heats up.
this affects the infrared sensor that acts as if being close to an obstacle
try to put the phone in the fridge for 10 minutes and make a call or get a call...problem solved for minutes or if the phone remains in a cool area...
NOKIA this problem can be solved from tunnig the software?
i cannot send the phone to a care center because is not a new one
thank you
