I'm starting to get really frustrated with Nokia E6 with Symbian Belle Refresh which I bought just a couple of days ago.
It does not detect wifi internet connections at all, although they are available. When I go to settings -> connectivity and then select wifi, it searches connection for a while and then shows that none are found. Meanwhile, my old Nokia E72 remains connected to my home wifi without any problem... I am really surprised and disappointed. Also when I try to set up the connection manually, it doesn't work at all.
I can't believe that such a device is being sold, a wifi connection is something extremely necessary nowadays in a smartphone. I was so attached to Nokia but I feel like it is my last Nokia phone because this is just unbelievable and I cannot find a fix for it.
Please could anyone help and assist? I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.

As a recently purchased E6-00 came with Belle 111.130.0625 installed I wonder whether you or seller updated software via FOTA update in which case I might have suggested that you try option within Nokia Suite > Tools > Software update to re-install existing device software; this replaces Belle Refresh in it's entirety rather than as an incremental update which has possibly led to corruption of data.

I dont know what FOTA means... however i reinstalled the software according to these instructions (through Nokia Suite - by the way it says that the version is 111.140.0058.)
still no wifi is being detected
I really don't understand why, all other devices connect to wifi with no problems... any other suggestions? I'm starting to really go crazy with it
thank you anyway

My E6 has never given me any pronblems with WiFi and have had Anna and all the Belle releases. Since you've already reinstalled via Nokia Suite as suggested by Aspergerguy, which is _defineitely_ the way to go, you might try a *#7370# soft reset as well, which does solve some problems. 111.140.0058 is the Refresh
If the reset doesn't help and you're sure all your setting are right, you may have a dud phone :-(

Did notice today when trying to download 100MB file via WLAN access point with E6-00 Belle that it dropped connection several times and had to resume download to complete; I might add using same router than no other Nokia devices have had issue with!

thank you for all advices. i also did a *#7370# soft reset and it didn't change anything unfortunately...
the problem is really not connection dropping or something. it is really good when I connect to the internet through the mobile operator and I never even tried downloading files through a phone, i just need it for checking emails etc. the thing is, it connects without any problem via 3G but when I search for wifi, it detects nothing. I try by clicking on Wi-Fi widget - nothing... even if I click on "Other (hidden network)" enter the wifi name and password... nothing... same with adding a new access point... whereas there is plenty networks available, and old Nokia e72 does its job well - no problem to connect to my home wifi and detect other wifis nearby!!
