Did you read the posts right above? There is a solution available now.

So the Nokia Care Centers just replace the middle 'square' of the D-pad with the new one with the transparent part? Seems like a good, simple fix, and if this is all easy to get done (and free under warranty) then hats off to Nokia for recognising the problem and acting quickly on it. Superb work. ![]()

Andy, you are been too kind for Nokia: it is now almost 6 months after the release (doesn't seem really quick. But I'm happy that they fix it. Now it is getting closer to the perfect phone.

Hi,
I have a call with Nokia Care in India open for the notification problem since 5 days. Still they did not find suitable solution. Nokia India is still finding a solution for this problem.
Hope this problem resolves as early as possible.

Hi h_dodeja,
I am in touch with them everyday, but it seems Nokia India is taking time to reply Nokia Care. I get this feeling after I hear the replies from Nokia Care Centre. I have asked them today that if the news of new nokia E6 is being introduced in the market is true. The guy at Nokia Care Centre denied it and said at least he is not aware of this. I will keep you update on this.

Vyenky

Concerns the solution to the low visibility of the notification light in some lighting conditions was answered by a Nokia employee here:
The solution involved fitting a new keymat with an improved notification light design, which can be treated as an in-warranty repair. Please visit http://www.nokia.com/global/support and choose your region and country for more support information.

I went to the nokia care centre in Belgium and they told me they could provide a QWERTY keymat with notification but still no AZERTY (Belgium keypad). I'll have to wait a few weeks (months?) longer.... Pity

Hey Jerre123
Sorry to hear about your problem, we can easily address this for you . Just give us a call during office and ask for the SST and explain to them that you will like to have a unit that has an AZERTY keypad. They will assist you further on this regard or you could tell the shop in question to contact us on your behalf and explain the issue mentioned.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
I hope this answer your question.

Would any of the moderators be able to answer my question:
Can Nokia Care in Canada order the D-pad/keyboard part for me, if I am willing to pay for it? I bought my E6 from overseas since the phone is not carried in Canada. When I called Nokia Care, the person could not help me because of this.

For those who is interested.
I returned the E6 to the store where it was bought and asked them to replace the "keymat"/d-pad.
Explained the hardware "flaw" from Nokia (what the problem is/was) and showed them this thread on the discussion group.
They understood, ordered a new d-pad and fixed it.
Attaching a picture with it. Problem fixed within a week.
